Thick, Quick Socks

Steve has been asking me to knit socks for him since the year before last. I had this idea that socks would be too hard and time consuming to knit, so I put him off. But, with his birthday coming up, I decided the time had come to try. I went for super thick, slipper-like socks. Turns out, it wasn't so hard after all.

I followed this clear, simple pattern, but I used two strands of worsted weight yarn and knit with size 8 double pointed needles. The socks fit Steve's wide, flat feet perfectly. I used one strand of red in the the bottom of the cuff and inthe heel to add an easy accent.

Now I just need to knit the second one.

Update: Second sock finished in time for Steve's birthday!
