You too can be a ski bum...even if you don't ski

True ski bums exchange personal comfort and monetary security for sick turns. They willingly live in tents, trucks, caves, sheds, and, yes, busses, because of the surpassing worth of skiing.

I am not a ski bum, at least not anymore. My passion for skiing and snowboarding is exceeded by my passion for vegetable gardening, writing, staying out of debt, and walking alongside those in need. Still, I cannot forget the lesson of the ski bums: sacrifice for the sake of  a greater joy is no sacrifice at all.

  2. I like this post. It resonates. As Dave Ramsey says about becoming financially free, "live like no one else so later you can live like no one else." I'm all over that!

  3. "Like" and I agree with Chelsie's comment. Some days you need to go out and enjoy the powder but other days you need to sacrifice a few fun turns for bigger goals beyond that.
