The Bus and Natural Disasters

If one lives in an area that is prone to tornadoes, one might want to think twice about living in a bus. However, we don't have tornadoes in north central Washington. What do we have? Forest fires.

And forest fires call for creativity.

Mission Ridge Ski and Snowboard Resort uses their snow-making machines to  ward off the flames.

Right now, the fires are not threatening our area, but, like Mission Ridge, we're ready for them if they come. We'll load up our lives into the bus home and drive into the (especially vibrant) sunset. Family and friends: who is ready for a bus in the driveway? (I'm sure our parents have been having nightmares about us pulling up since we bought the bus.)

  1. Best of luck. Western wildfires are quite unpredictable. All it takes is one dry lightning storm to cook your goose. So to speak.

  2. Thanks. The smoke cleared up today and it sound like firefighters are making some progress.
